Hands On is a short-term, summer missions program designed for young adult members of The Salvation Army between the ages of 18 and 28 who are eager to engage in learning and serving others. Hands On team members will have the opportunity to express their love, commitment, and passion for Jesus Christ while partnering with Salvation Army ministries in different cultures for the purpose of learning and serving in evangelism, physical labor, and personal discipleship.
CAST is an evangelistic, arts-focused, service-minded mission team. The Arts Ministries Bureau annually assembles a production team and selects a play, musical, or original piece to produce. That’s where YOU come in! Accepted members begin their adventure in June with rehearsals and orientation in New York. The mission team then begins a 6 (ish) week-long summer performance and teaching tour, ending in July/August. Performances and teaching will take place at Salvation Army summer camps for kids, community centers, corps, churches, and street festivals around the Eastern Territory.
This mission team will consist of a group of Christian young-adults gifted in brass and vocal performance. They will be led by adult leaders who will provide spiritual and practical guidance. The objective of this team will be to use brass and vocal performance and education to support the vision and mission of The Salvation Army. This would be accomplished through performing and teaching in the areas of brass, vocal and music theory at various music camps, conservatories, Kroc Centers and corps. These teaching and performance opportunities serve youth that often do not get to see much outside of the inner city or usually are unable to attend because of lack of money.
