3 Big Questions That Change Every Teenager

Today’s teenagers are the most anxious, adaptive, and diverse generation in history—which can make it hard for us to relate. And while every teenager is a walking bundle of questions, 3 rise above the rest:

  • Who am I?
  • Where do I fit?
  • What difference can I make?

Young people struggle to find satisfying and life-giving answers to these questions on their own. They need caring adults willing to lean in with empathy, practice listening, and gently point them in the direction of better answers: that they are enough because of Jesus, they belong with God’s people, and they are invited into God’s greater story.

Based on new landmark research from the Fuller Youth Institute and in-depth interviews plus data from 2,200 diverse teenagers, this workshop will offer practical and proven conversations and connections that help teenagers answer their three biggest questions and reach their full potential.

Youth Discipleship 101

Ever wonder if young people are being discipled through your current programming? Across the country, it is estimated that 1 million young people are walking away from the Church annually and away from the abundant life Jesus promised. What will change the tide?

This workshop will provide the framework and practical ideas needed to provide teenagers the framework needed to encounter and follow Jesus. Learn how the Church can be the vehicle God uses to draw young people into God’s kingdom.

Building Bigger Tables

In the Gospel of Luke Jesus shares a story of a great banquet, an allegory for the mission of God’s church.  In this story Jesus highlights the necessity of building a table that is diverse and that includes beginning with extending an invitation to those with disabilities to have a seat at the table.  In this session, Dr. Lamar Hardwick will share scriptural insights and practical strategies for understanding disability and becoming more inclusive of persons with disabilities and their families.

Emotionally Healthy Youth Leadership

“This session, focused on emotionally healthy youth leadership will have a dual emphasis. First, we will look at what it means to be an emotionally healthy leader from a biblical perspective. Then, we will conduct a learning laboratory to explore how we can build relationships, create environments, and lead programs that nurture emotional health in our corps.”
